Ansel

My name is Ansel, and I’ve been working with KORI for the last four months on the Vessel UK project. I study international relations and development in the United States, and I joined KORI as part of my study abroad programme to gain experience in the development sector and charity work. My time at KORI has been a great learning experience for understanding what development can look like when done thoughtfully, empowering the community and the young people that believe in the organisation.

I learned a lot from KORI about what development work looks like on the ground, and how initiatives like Vessel UK create a twofold impact for youth at home and abroad. Writing the Namibia 2025 Report was a great opportunity for me to learn first-hand what this looks like, and I’m glad to have worked on such a wonderful project. The people-first, youth-led, holistic approach to development that KORI takes on is something that will stay with me looking ahead as I prepare to enter the development sector after graduating. I’m thankful to KORI and the fantastic team for this experience, and I hope to see this organisation grow its amazing mission!
